On going past the ferry cottages, I spied Mrs McKenzie the teacher from the now long closed Port Appin school.
I went across to talk to her and it went like this, (she was kneeling down doing some gardening with her back toward me).
I said
" Hello Mrs McKenzie can I book my children into your school"
she turned round and looked long and hard
with a smile on her face, "Dobson" she said
I said
"Yes"
being very pleased she recognized me,
She said
"You are the spitting image of your Dad".
Knowing that she had never seen my Dad, I said
"I am the Dad"
"John" she said "I mistook you for .............."
I will not reveal his name in order not to embarrass him.
I am dead chuffed being taken for about 25 years younger.
This must mean that both of us is good looking
The whole of Port Appin School three of which are Dobsons

Well, it wasn't me!!! :)
Nor me. (that's funny).
If its who I think it is, he was once mistaken for my Dad when he dropped me off at a tennis lesson once. What does that say?
And it wasn't me as I was there!!!!!!!!
Not many left to chose from!!!!
So which one is the good looking one ??????
oh, that's me!!!!
Nothing to do with seeing Mrs MacKenzie though!
To my mind it all comes down to good looks and healthy living...... and if I start now maybe in 25 years time it will be Jack who going,,WHAT!
Name and address withheld!
Is that to stop the paparazzi chasing you??
Three are in the pic, but where's the almost-canadian-as-well-as-Scottish one? Go Nonno!!!
A twinkle in his Mum's eye then.
Just been shopping at Tesco in Oban, and who should I meet?
