The Wine Cellar

This is my extra storage space under the bed, for my next camping trip, this is only the frame it has to be painted, and a top put on, but getting this far I am pleased with. It was a bit tricky getting it in it all had to go through the back door.

Home again

Well been back home for a week now and non-stop invigilating, but I do enjoy it. In fact it is so good that I have been promoted to a "senior invigilator".
Dead chuffed.
Had some ideas about more converting of the "camper", I am going to put in a false floor, so that I can carry more wine??, no, but it does give me more storage space and some of the items can be stored in there when I am at home, so saving space elsewhere. It may even mean that I can camp for 1 night without putting up the awning, which I dread doing just for a short time. It will be in 2 parts so the back part can be kept in all the time, but not fastened in, and the front half will be used when away.
Weather not been good this last week, certainly after the fine/hot I had in France.

Wimereux

Yesterday 7th May Tilly and I went to Wimereux, another of Wendy's favourites, we walked along the prom and had an ice cream. I sat on the wall next to the bridge over the river, where Wendy, David, Pat, Tilly and I sat last year.
Still roasting here 30. Too hot for Tilly here must get her a hair cut.
Maybe go for a swim in the sea today.

Le Hourdel

Yesterday (6th May) went to Le Hourdel, one of Wendy's favourite view points, we always had to go there when in the area. The picture does not do it justice.
Then arrived at Val d'Authie again one of our favourite campsites, to anyone going to this area, it is well worth a visit. Had a meal in the restaurant "moules et frit" of course.
Weather still very good, had a little rain during the night but wall to wall sunshine again this morning. Going to Wimereux today, and a Decathlon.

Les Andelys

This is a pic of the castle overlooking the campsite, it must have been very impressive when n use poverlooking a bend in the river.

Back to France

Today I went to the woodwind instrument museum at La Couture Boussey, a little disappointed, it was just cases of parts of old wind instruments, there where some interesting items, but on the whole I have done it, been there, but not bothered about the t shirt. Still it was another nice drive, the roads are so quiet, and my fuel consumption has gone up from 47 to 51.5

May 2011

Hi all, getting back to this blog idea. On hols in France, Tilly and me are having good time, it is very hot during the day, but quite cold at nights. We started in Buysscheure, at one of our favourite camps run by Guy ansd Bernadette (the vet nurse). We stayed 2 nights and have now come to les Andelys for 3 nights, on the banks of the river Seine, half way from Paris to Honfleur. you can see how close from he pics. Hope I get the gear right on moving off.
