A traumatic week-end

OK this week-end has been traumatic.
I have lost a quarter of my family to Canada, but I wish them all the best and I WILL see them again.
I hope they have a very successful life in Canada.
Then I went to see another quarter of my family that has moved to Scotland, much more accessible
Rick with Julie Jacob and Anna have moved to Oban, I went to see them and we visited Port Appin one of my very favourite areas I know.
I spent a very next day visiting Port Appin and meeting some of my old friends. Kathy, Chrissie and Colin
It was wonderful.
I spent a very enjoyable time with Julie and her Dad (John). reminiscing about all  the area. I am really looking forward to going back and spending some more time there.
Then came back HOME to Kendal and picked up life with Andrea Shaun and Jess also Grandma.
Got back into reality with the electric blanket (It is so cold).
Looking forward to Christmas with all my local family around me, and also maybe Rick and Julie.
and then with  the other quarter in Southampton Chris Liz Jack and Thomas when the weather improves I will be off down there again.
Hope all this nonsense makes sense.
What I really mean is I am very proud and Love all  4 quarters of My family.

Liz bake

This is the recipe Liz made for us last week and I enjoyed so much, so here goes!!!

Ready to go in the oven

 Cooked

 Onto the plate

Verdict,
very nice, nearly as nice as Liz makes, but mine had too much pasta, not enough cauliflower and creme fraiche

Next day lunchtime:-  Finished it off with more caul, more cheese, more cream fraiche
c'est bon

A SLEEP-OVER

Shaun and Jess came for a sleep-over last night, and we had a deep discussion about jobs, Jess wants to be an Archaeologist, so now she is watching Time Team. I was asked what my job was, and after Invigilating,  camp-site inspections, a viewing assistant....... I said that really I am retired, "I am an old age pensioner", then one of my favourite Grand-Daughters said, "but you don't look old enough Nonno".
Wow,  Made my day!!!!!

It's like when I buy a bottle of wine, the assistant always wants my I.D. to check my age !!!!!!!!!!

Maiden Voyage

First campsite Witches Craig Bridge of Allen

Very comfortable, warm and snug.

Got Paws up from the first mate.

She can't keep off a climb

I won.t say it was very wet but these are the only visitors happy with the camping field.

Great to visit and meet team Scotland again, with Andrea, Shaun and Jess, went to watch them all swimming in the pool at Ash's Office,

I am very pleased with this trip and the caravan, it tows fine, and I think in the main I can manage without a mover. I had a problem with the mains cable falling out of the gas locker, but only lost about 2 metres off the length, the hole has now been covered with some mesh, and the water heater took a long time to configure, but that appears OK now. Main things warm, dry, and comfortable.
