Now on the ferry to Dover after a mind blowing morning,

Up at 6am (5am to you lot) put all gear away in record time 51 minutes. Good
Leave campsite at 8am to arrive at Dunkirk ferry terminal by 9am. Good
Arrive at check in at 10 am Good
Hand over 2 passports mine and Tilly Good
"There is a problem with your dog's passport" Oh No!!! BAD
"The vet has dated it for June not May, you cannot travel" Oh No No BAD
"But we can direct you to a local vet to put it right" Oh Yes Merci Maybe not so bad
Arrive at vet, and along wait in the waiting room Maybe not so good
"I cannot put this right you must contact your vet and get them to fax me proof of the correction" Oh No No No !!!!!!!" BAD BAD BAD
Drive back to St Omer this is easier than explaining in my broken French what is wanted. 40 km No so Good
Arrive at vet thinking this is Sat am probably now on the beach somewhere, could be BAD
No he is in I put on my sternest face and even shout, he is full of apologies
it is now 10.30 next boat at 12 need to be there by 11 he puts in a new entry. Then wants to have a chat, ??????? NO WAY
Arrive back at Dunkirk Port and now cannot find my passport, in all the confusion it has fallen down under my seat and into a secret locker under my feet. BAD Again
Found it GOOD
The moral of this story make sure
Make sure your vet
KNOWS WHAT DAY IT IS
