Great Grandma Birthday

Great Grandma has another Birthday, they seem to come round every year,

We asked her if she wanted to go out, but declined, so we asked her if we could get something in, Indian !!! "No"  Chinese!!!  "No"

Fish and Chips  "Yes please, but don't forget the mushy peas"

It was also late owing to my Grandchildren s social life, between Rugby, and Gymnastics,

but we managed it in the end, also the timing, we had to avoid "Strictly"

She would also like to thank all her relatives and friends for the very nice cards and presents.

Bed and Breakfast

Wow, have I been busy.

I've had lots of visitors, first from Southampton

Chris, Liz, Jack and Thomas, called here for a few days on their way home from a Scottish Holiday, sounds like a good time had, visit to Rick and family, flight in a private plane over Appin and Port Appin, staying at Kinlochlaich House, and meeting a lot of old friends.

We had a good time here, they mainly stopped with Andrea, Shaun and Jess, but Chris and Thomas had a sleep over here as well.

We all went out for a trip to Fell Foot on Windermere, and Liz, Jess, Jack and Thomas went out rowing on the lake. and we had a pub meal at Romneys in Kendal in the evening.

Next came Grace and Dave, on a northern tour doing Clitheroe, Trough of Bowland and the Lakes, they had two nights b and b here, and a meal at the Golf Club (great fish and chips), we supped a bit and put the world to rights, doing some reminiscing about holidays in the past.

Then Joan and Stuart came for a couple of nights b and b, first to the County Fair, in company with Barbara and George, very warm day, and I had Tilly with me so did stay too long, then we went to the Station Inn (more fish and chips) for an evening, and back here to sup some more and more reminiscing about the good old days.

Joan, Stuart, Andrea, Jess, (Shaun was playing rugby for the school they won 54 to 7) and me, with Benny and Tilly went to the Chili Fest at Holker Hall, another warm and crowded day, Tilly not on best behaviour, but we had good time.

My breakfast skills improved with all this, had a lie in today to recover, with just porridge and toast.

But great to see everyone again

also during all this I have at last sold my touring caravan,
 I have decided to re-invest the money in updating my car, same again (boring I know)
but it is a new version and I know it is comfortable,
I took a 2008 out on a test drive and found it far too small, felt very claustrophobic,

This is great, to wake up to fresh bread smell in the morning,

 just the right size for me 500g loaf

I decided to get one of my own can't be bad for £10 

 and not a disposable one.

Unfortunately it is disposable, (fell to pieces) and was returned for full refund!!!!!!

Roadworks in Scotland

If you think Kendal has had bad roadworks for the  last 16 weeks imagine being stuck behind a 

Helicopter ???, as we passed it the blades were still rotating, this is on the "Rest and be Thankful".

Tilly has been to see Rachel again

I think she has done a wonderful job again, she looks so young again, with a very dark coat.

But we are not a very happy doggy, keeping well away from me.

Mothers Day

Just been out for  meal at Table Table Kendal, with the Two Mothers, plus Shaun and Jess

Very nice it was, and we had a special deal for Mothers Day.
